Mars in Libra is amping up the Cardinal Climax — the historic alignment of outer planets Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Pluto stationed on the grid of the World Horoscope in August. Some astrologers are predicting a meltdown on a par with the Great Depression or 1930s Germany. My take? It could happen. Anything could happen in the next two weeks, with astrology this…transformative.
To quote MC 900 Foot Jesus: “A little black smoke is rising from the hood / Something’s gonna happen and it’s probably not good” (Adventures in Failure). But I was talking with my friend Tiffany the other day about all the predictions of doom. “I mean, aren’t we already in the Cardinal Climax,” she said. “Seems to me we need to just keep being the change, rather than focusing on what could go wrong.”
I feel we’re not really admitting to ourselves how much has already gone wrong with the Gulf oil spill. We’re going to be experiencing the fall-out from that event for at least one generation, perhaps many more than that. No, it isn’t the panicky kind of trouble that a new Great Depression would provide. But over the long haul it could prove to be much more destructive.
Anyway, in this month’s video I argue for Tiffany’s point of view. Things are bad enough already — let’s get busy doing good work, creating positive alternatives, and opening the door to the millions of fence-sitters who are longing to jump into action beside us. Let’s spread the good word.
