We begin the week (and the astrological year) with the Sun conjunct Uranus on the Aries Point, which is the foundation point for the world horoscope. The Aries Point always ties in the collective consciousness to whatever themes are present in this cycle of time and Uranus brings an explosive, revolutionary energy that mandates an “out with the old, in with the new” approach to life.

If I understand it correctly, the Japanese word for crisis is made up of the two symbols meaning “danger” and “opportunity”. This week marks the official start of a seven-year period in which we have the “danger opportunity” of remaking our world. We are all involved in what’s going on in Japan, in what’s going down in Libya and the Middle East, as well as in the ridiculous amount of stress we are putting on the Earth and her natural systems – the very resources that sustain our life. We’ve reached a point in the history of our species where we must do something new because the way of life we’ve created is not sustainable for much longer. Not only that but it is soul-killing and spirit-numbing and it’s bad for our neighbors.
